I live in two worlds: my 50 acre Midwest farm and this future world coming faster but never fast enough.

It’s amazing to be able to look for wormhole signatures! If worm hole do exist does that mean that some matter has to have traveled through it?

amazing write up it just got a paragraph on my daily brief scan. It was so fascinating that i have to come to the entire article. Keep up the good work. Practically i am trying to be unemployed to stay updated on whats coming but catching the pace with the rate of change makes me feel anxious

Do you think we could see programmable RNA *and* the virtual cell, or are they on separate branches of the tech tree?

After being fact-checked by my niece, I had to open my mind to data center NIMBY concerns on water. Turns out >70% use evaporative cooling and most of those use potable water, straining local water supplies (see GA). Poor design and poor local regulations/land permitting policies will drive data center expansion to space. It’s not just electricity anymore, water will become a bottleneck.

Its more complex than that... A major shift happening now is: older data centers optimized for power efficiency alone -- newer AI data centers optimized for extreme heat density plus water/public-policy constraints. Some recent high-profile projects specifically advertise low-water designs because local governments and communities increasingly oppose large freshwater consumption by data centers.

Agreed. It’s more complex than power efficiency. Yet DCs are still being built using potable water as cooling resource in locations that can’t support it. Local municipalities in low-regulation areas don’t care until the local population suffers. My point in all this was that the Moonshot mates argued that NIMBYs were being naive in rejecting new DCs without looking at the facts. They made the assumption that all new DCs were optimized per your comment. The Moonshot mates’ assumption was stated as fact, but was itself naive.

Someone must be eating their Wheaties. This was one of your best efforts in the past few weeks. More real-world tech news and less Star Trek. The science fiction and swarms are fun, but enough is enough of that 'other' world. This is essentially the most vital daily source of top tier AI news. My AI agent enjoys your Moonshots discussions and 'speaks' highly of your vast and precise knowledge...as one AI agent to another, of course. <Grin>
