If a student can pass your test by pasting a prompt into a model, the test was measuring output, not understanding. The tool changed. The architecture did not.
From our Continuity Ledger work, growth only happens under real limits. If learning can be outsourced, then no real constraint was present. No friction. No formation.
So the higher-ed question is not “How do we stop AI?” It is: What kind of learning cannot be delegated?
Revise over time. Defend reasoning live. Show how your thinking changed. Those cannot be faked at scale.
The worst thing one can choose right now as the rate of change increases is to turn away from it. Choose a path, try and explore but come along for the ride.

AI designs objects. Humans let it print them. AI suggests edits. Humans accept them. AI drafts words. Humans publish them.
We are becoming the hands of the machine.
What posture are we taking toward it?
Tool? Partner? Competitor? Infrastructure? Weapon?
We don’t know yet.
And when a civilization doesn’t know what something is, its response becomes the definition.
Perhaps what unfolds next will not tell us what it is — but what we believe ourselves to be.
